Nog steeds bestaat het misverstand dat slachtoffers hoge bedragen moeten betalen voor rechtshulp bij letselschade of dat zij een deel van de schadevergoeding moeten afstaan. Van dit misverstand maken diverse bureaus die zich via internet of anderszins aanbieden misbruik door zonder noodzaak no cure no pay contracten aan te bieden.
